Macarius had grown to fall for His 'new purchase'. He never had a heart for one such as this. He knew how devastation could set in after a hard knock as he had taken. Macarius prayed that just maybe with the help of Almighty God he could help to shine a light into the lad. He was not a pompous man, Macarius knew he was with plenty of sin in him own self. He could not understand how the wiles of men could be so demeaning and disheartening. May God help him, may God help us all he thought.
